BEATCODEX

Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 June 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the BeatCodex website, public pages, forms, public map information, experimental export files, documentation, and related pre-launch materials.

By accessing or using the BeatCodex website, you agree to these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree with these Terms of Use, please do not use the website.

2. Current Project Status

BeatCodex is currently an independent, pre-commercial software project.

No products, subscriptions, paid downloads, paid services, paid support, voluntary support payments, donations, or crowdfunding contributions are currently sold or collected through this website.

BeatCodex is in a pre-launch phase. Some information, features, maps, compatibility targets, screenshots, workflows, export formats, or plugin descriptions may be experimental, incomplete, planned, unstable, or subject to change.

Information published on the website should not be understood as a guarantee that any specific feature, map, plugin build, download, product, license, service, or commercial release is currently available or will become available in the future.

3. Purpose of the Website

The BeatCodex website is provided to:

  • present the BeatCodex project;
  • collect beta interest;
  • collect drum-library mapping requests;
  • collect mapping corrections or submissions;
  • provide information about MIDI drum mapping workflows;
  • provide public-safe compatibility information;
  • provide experimental DAW export files for validation;
  • receive feedback before public launch.

The website is not currently an e-commerce website.

4. No Sale, No Paid Service, No Donation Collection

BeatCodex does not currently sell products, subscriptions, licenses, paid downloads, paid services, paid support, paid mapping packs, or any other paid commercial offering through this website.

BeatCodex does not currently collect voluntary support payments, donations, crowdfunding contributions, or “buy me a coffee” style payments through this website.

Commercial terms, refund terms, consumer information, professional identification details, and payment-related terms will be added before any paid commercial release or support-payment system is made available.

5. Experimental Maps and Export Files

The BeatCodex website may provide experimental MIDI map information, compatibility data, or DAW export files.

These materials are provided for pre-launch validation, testing, and feedback only.

They may be incomplete, inaccurate, unstable, incompatible with some software versions, or unsuitable for production use.

Users are responsible for testing any exported files in their own DAW, sampler, plugin host, or music-production environment before using them in a real project.

BeatCodex does not guarantee that a map, export file, note name, articulation label, compatibility target, or workflow is correct, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

6. User Responsibility

You are responsible for your use of the website, forms, downloads, map information, and experimental export files.

You should back up your projects, sessions, presets, DAW templates, and related files before testing BeatCodex materials.

You must not use BeatCodex materials in a way that could damage third-party rights, violate applicable law, mislead others, or interfere with the operation of the website or project infrastructure.

7. Third-Party Products and Compatibility

BeatCodex is an independent MIDI mapping and remapping project.

Third-party company, product, library, software, DAW, sampler, and trademark names are used only to identify compatibility, source mappings, target mappings, user-requested drum libraries, or relevant workflows.

BeatCodex is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or officially connected with Native Instruments, Toontrack, GetGood Drums, XLN Audio, Steven Slate Drums, BFD, UJAM, IK Multimedia, Ableton, Steinberg, PreSonus, Cockos, Image-Line, Apple, Avid, or any other referenced third-party rights holder.

All trademarks, product names, company names, and library names remain the property of their respective owners.

Users must own or lawfully access any third-party drum library, sampler, DAW, plugin, or software used with BeatCodex materials.

8. No Third-Party Audio Content

BeatCodex does not provide, host, sell, or distribute third-party audio samples, virtual instruments, installers, proprietary presets, copyrighted manuals, or proprietary drum-library content.

BeatCodex works with MIDI mapping information, compatibility metadata, and independently curated mapping structures.

You must not submit or upload third-party audio samples, proprietary installers, copyrighted manuals, confidential files, license keys, passwords, API keys, or material that you do not have the right to share.

9. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the BeatCodex name, website text, website structure, taxonomy, mapping organization, original documentation, original code, original design elements, and original materials are part of the BeatCodex project.

You may browse the website, link to public pages, and use public information for personal evaluation of the project.

You may not copy, scrape, reproduce, redistribute, publish, resell, commercially reuse, or create a competing public database from substantial parts of the BeatCodex website, taxonomy, map structure, mapping data, or public materials without prior written permission.

Automated scraping, bulk extraction, systematic copying, or commercial reuse of BeatCodex map data or taxonomy is not permitted without prior written permission.

10. Forms and Submissions

The website may contain forms for beta interest, drum-library requests, mapping corrections, mapping submissions, support requests, or contact messages.

When submitting a form, you agree to provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You must not submit unlawful, harmful, misleading, confidential, infringing, malicious, or unauthorized material.

Mapping submissions, corrections, files, notes, or compatibility information may be subject to separate Mapping Submission Terms.

Personal data submitted through forms is handled according to the BeatCodex Privacy Policy.

11. Beta Access

Joining a beta list or submitting beta interest does not guarantee beta access, download access, support priority, future free access, a paid license, or any future commercial benefit.

Any beta software, beta builds, private downloads, or test materials may be subject to separate Beta Terms.

12. Availability and Changes

BeatCodex may modify, suspend, restrict, remove, or discontinue any website feature, map, export file, form, page, documentation, or compatibility information at any time.

BeatCodex may also correct, remove, or restrict content if it is inaccurate, outdated, legally sensitive, reported by a rights holder, or no longer appropriate for publication.

The website may be unavailable from time to time because of hosting issues, maintenance, technical problems, security incidents, or changes to the project.

13. No Warranty

The website and all pre-launch materials are provided “as is” and “as available.”

BeatCodex makes no warranty that the website, forms, map information, export files, compatibility data, or pre-launch materials will be accurate, complete, reliable, secure, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BeatCodex disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BeatCodex will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or economic damages arising from use of the website, forms, map information, experimental export files, or pre-launch materials.

This includes, without limitation, loss of data, lost projects, corrupted DAW sessions, lost presets, lost income, business interruption, production delays, compatibility issues, or reliance on incomplete or inaccurate information.

Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes liability where such exclusion is not permitted by applicable law.

15. Reports, Legal Concerns, and Takedown Requests

If you believe that content on the website infringes your rights, misuses a trademark, contains inaccurate compatibility information, exposes inappropriate material, or should be removed for legal reasons, please contact hello@beatcodex.com.

Please include enough information to identify the relevant page, content, product name, mapping entry, or file, and explain the reason for the request.

BeatCodex will review good-faith reports and may correct, restrict, or remove content where appropriate.

16. Privacy

Personal data collected through the website, forms, email communication, beta requests, mapping requests, or mapping submissions is handled according to the BeatCodex Privacy Policy.

BeatCodex does not sell personal data.

17. Changes to These Terms

BeatCodex may update these Terms of Use as the project evolves, especially if beta access, plugin downloads, user accounts, payments, license systems, commercial services, analytics, or additional community features are introduced.

The updated version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
